AECP: With a Twist

Image
Hello, Today’s blog is all about using my existing crafting materials and thinking of different ways to “jazz up” my paper crafting projects. Thinking out of the box and using the materials differently from my usual way of card making and crafting will be my focus in my projects. The first card uses Altenew’s Build-a-flower:Daffodil  stamp set. I cut a piece of 8.5 x 11 inch card stock into half, each measuring 4.25” x 11” and scored it at 5.5”. I cut out an oval on one of the card stock using one of my infinity dies to create a window. Then, I cut out a frame using gold mirror card stock and added a piece of a acetate at the back of the window. Using the other half card stock, I traced the perimeter of the oval with a pencil and then stamped the daffodil images with yellow Altenew inks. I added a sentiment toward the left of the card stock. After erasing the pencil oval mark, I overlapped the 2 card stocks together to form a “Z” folded card. This card fold differently from my usual A

AECP: In the mood for color

Hello, Welcome back to my second level 2 course blog: In the mood for color. We use colors in our card creations to express and convey our our moods or feelings on our cards. Using Altenew supplies and a variety of coloring medium such as water colors, copic markers, color pencils, ink pads, inks, colored papers etc., I can choose the right colors to help express my sentiments on the cards. My first card uses Altenew’s Build-a-flower: Rose  stamp set. Using shades of pink Altenew ink, I can convey the feeling of  “sensitive, caring and sweetness”. I used the layering stamps to stamp the image of the beautiful rose and die cut the image with the coordinating die. I also stamped the layered leaves images and cut them with the coordinating die as well. I cut a piece of card stock and cut it diagonally in half, and embossed it using Sunny Studio’s Quilted Hearts  embossing folder. I adhered this to a 4” by 5.25” card stock. I added a thin strip of black glitter card stock and a thin strip

AECP: Beyond Basic Backgrounds

Hello, I am very very happy to announce that I am awarded my AECP Level 1, and I am going to embark on my Level 2 courses! Woo-hoo!! I know I am going to learn more from the talented instructors and hone my skills and knowledge in the card making world. My first card for the “beyond basic backgrounds” course features Altenew’s Majestic Mistletoe  stamp set. Using the smallest leaf branch, I started to stamp the top of my panel using the darkest shade of green Altenew ink.  Using different shades of green, from the darkest to lightest ink shade, I stamped the entire panel with the leaf branch stamp. This creates a gradual gradient of green on the panel. Once the panel is completely stamped, I blended some dark green ink toward the top of the panel to give it some interest. Then, I die cut 2 circle die cuts - one bigger than the other on a piece of vellum and white card stock. I stamped and embossed the words “merry & bright” in Altenew’s gold embossing ink, on the white card stock
